Strategic Study of CAE 2001, Volume 3, Issue 8,   Pages 51-57

Abstract:

This paper discussed the intelligence control of the complex large scale systems , especially of the economy system. The entity participated in competition is regarded as a point in the fuzzy extension economy space, and all kinds of restriction conditions as a N-dimensions' jieke. Then the definition of the jieke's restriction degree is given. When the entity participates in competition, it must get the information first, and wipe off the information yawp. In order to find the best jieke and jie-gate, the extension force can be used.

Multi-harmonic forced vibration and resonance of simple beams to moving vehicles

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering   Pages 981-993 doi: 10.1007/s11709-023-0979-5

Abstract: This study modeled the moving-vehicle-induced forcing excitation on a single-span prismatic bridge as a multiple frequency-multiplication harmonic load on the modal coordinates of a linear elastic simple Euler–Bernoulli beam, and investigated the forced modal oscillation and resonance behavior of this type of dynamic system. The forced modal responses consist of multiple frequency-multiplication steady-state harmonics and one damped mono-frequency complementary harmonic. The analysis revealed that a moving load induces high-harmonic forced resonance amplification when the moving speed is low. To verify the occurrence of high-harmonic forced resonance, numerical tests were conducted on single-span simple beams based on structural modeling using the finite element method (FEM) and a moving sprung-mass oscillator vehicle model. The forced resonance amplification characteristics of the fundamental mode for beam response estimation are presented with consideration to different end restraint conditions. The results reveal that the high-harmonic forced resonance may be significant for the investigated beams subjected to vehicle loads moving at specific low speeds. For the investigated single-span simple beams, the moving vehicle carriage heaving oscillation modulates the beam modal frequency, but does not induce notable variation of the modal oscillation harmonic structure for the cases that vehicle of small mass moves in low speed.

Optimal slot dimension for skirt support structure of coke drums

Edward WANG, Zihui XIA

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering 2018, Volume 13, Issue 4,   Pages 554-562 doi: 10.1007/s11465-018-0513-y

Abstract:

The skirt-to-shell junction weld on coke drums is susceptible to fatigue failure due to severe thermal cyclic stresses. One method to decrease junction stress is to add slots near the top of the skirt, thereby reducing the local stiffness close to the weld. The most common skirt slot design is thin relative to its circumferential spacing. A new slot design, which is significantly wider, is proposed. In this study, thermal-mechanical elastoplastic 3-D finite element models of coke drums are created to analyze the effect of different skirt designs on the stress/strain field near the shell-to-skirt junction weld, as well as any other critical stress locations in the overall skirt design. The results confirm that the inclusion of the conventional slot design effectively reduces stress in the junction weld. However, it has also been found that the critical stress location migrates from the shell-to-skirt junction weld to the slot ends. A method is used to estimate the fatigue life near the critical areas of each skirt slot design. It is found that wider skirt slots provide a significant improvement on fatigue life in the weld and slot area.

Abstract:

In order to gain a deeper understanding of the significance of the Chinese Academy of Engineering's "China Intelligent Manufacturing Development Strategy Research Report Based on the New Generation of Artificial Intelligence", the author adopts the method of deconstruction and reconstruction, to analyze the Reference Architecture Model of Industrial 4.0 (RAMI 4.0) of Germany, and compared with the general architecture of intelligent manufacturing proposed in the report of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and similarities and differences of each other are found. It is believed that the general architecture of the intelligent manufacturing in China is superior in intelligence. This is the Chinese contribution to the development of intelligent manufacturing. At the same time, the analysis deepens the understanding of the both architectures.
